Used by may first responders to test for low level
radiation on skin surfaces and environmental surroundings. This unit
will detect even the smallest doses of radiation in
food and water. Areas where larger masses of radiation are
present can tend to saturate the Geiger tube of this unit, causing it to
read faulty dosages. That is why this unit was made for a more peacetime
use, as opposed to higher level reading by other Geiger counters, in a full
scale nuclear situation.
Detects both beta and gamma radiation - low level gamma radiation measurement at 0 - 0.5 mR/hr, 0 - 5.0 mR/hr and 0 - 50.0 mR/hr, and allso, beta radiation detection with the wand's probe window open.
Unlike many Geiger Counters you will find on the open market, these Geiger counters have been thoroughly tested and calibrated at the licensed radiological KI4U calibration laboratory and fully certified (dated sticker on housing) for accuracy and competency in the field. Without this certification, they are deemed inaccurate and unreliable.
Housings may have some minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches due to their rigorous testing stages. Comes with probe, headphones, shoulder strap and instruction manual.
